Strategy #6 ⢠SIMPLIFY FAST-FINISHER ACTIVITIES.
All your students do not work at the same pace. Itâs a fact, and it can be a pain because we always need to come up with fast-finisher activities for those students who work at a faster pace. Even more stuff to prep! Ugh! A lot of the teachers I know want these activities to be a valuable use of time, but we also donât want to make the activities so good that students rush (and undoubtedly make silly errors) so they can work on a super-fun fast-finisher project.

I can actually remember being at the school for my sonâs orchestra concert, running to the copy room between performances to add more paper to the copier. Reams and reams of paper later and all I had were a few papercuts, an annoyed husband, and a boring activity for my math fast finishers. What was I thinking?
After trying just about everything, I came to the realization that once again, simplicity is the answer! (It almost always is. Why canât I remember that when I am making everything complicated?)
